The objective of the Curie Institute Research Center is to develop basic research and to use the knowledge produced to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and therapeutics of cancers as part of the continuum between basic research and innovation serving the patient.

Description du poste

The laboratory technician position will be held in the Vignjevic team at the UMR 144 located at 12 rue Lhomond, Paris, 75005 but work will be done at the Institut Pierre-Gilles de Gennes located at 6 rue Jean Calvin, Paris, 75005.

The candidate will work on the gut-on-chip side of the team.

We are looking for a laboratory technician interested in questions related to the role of mechanical forces in cancer progression and gut homeostasis using complex in vitro models. The candidate’s mission will consist in taking over steps of the chip fabrication process, including collagen production, chip molding with PDMS, cell culture (tumor organoids and fibroblasts) and immunostaining.

Description of lab tasks

-          Cell culture (2D and 3D with Matrigel)

-          Cell seeding (CAFs and tumor organoids) on chips

-          Chip molding with PDMS and coating with polydopamine

-          Immunostaining on chips

-          Collagen extraction from rat tails

 

Constraints and risks

-          Use of CMR products

Profil recherché

Training and experience required

-          Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent to Bac+3)

-          Experience in cell culture is recommended but not mandatory

 

Skills required

-          Ability to work in a team, motivation, and autonomy

-          English proficiency

Contract information

Type of contract: Fixed-term contract

Starting date: As soon as possible

Duration: 1 year

Working time: full time - 35 hours per week

Remuneration: according to the current grids
