This is a fantastic opportunity for a student who has an enthusiastic interest in manufacturing and product design, to gain hands on engineering experience with this leading manufacturer of cleaning tools. Mentored throughout, you will work with internal and external stakeholders supporting new product development and sales with existing and bespoke products. You will create drawings and models, assist production teams with drawings or DXF files, collect and check dimensional information and key product data to create technical specification documents for product back catalogue. Distributing their products worldwide they have set the benchmark for quality and innovation across the cleaning, food manufacturing and agricultural industries; their prestigious client base includes Coca Cola, Heinz and the UK Royal Family. With offices in the USA supplying the US, Canada and Central America, this host is expanding rapidly and seeking talented individuals to help drive future success.
Tasks:
• Create 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings of existing products for internal teams and external supplier use
• Assist in house production teams with the creation of drawings or DXF files to use in the manufacturing process
• Create technical specification documentation for product back catalogue. Collect and check dimensional information and key product data to populate.
• Supporting sales with bespoke product enquiries
• Provide support in the new product development process
• Support ongoing sustainability projects, both products based and companywide. This can include attending virtual seminars and speaking to sustainable service providers on behalf of the company.
• Collate information and progress from product meetings, follow up tasks with internal teams and assist on a wide range of product-based projects.
• Assist with the set up for events and trade shows, exhibiting new product ranges.
Skills:
• Studying for an appropriate degree in product design, product development, industrial or design engineering
• Essential - experience using SolidWorks
• Experience with CAD and modelling design skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Good attention to detail and technical ability
• Manufacturing process knowledge and with support
• Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator a bonus
• Ability to produce product and engineering drawings with dimensions and tol-erances
