Context
3 billion people still cook with dirty fuel on the planet. This leads to the premature death of 4 million people every year, 2% of global CO2 emissions and 25% of black carbon emissions. Technological solutions to this problem exist, but are they really adopted? And what are their real impact on the ground?
We build sensors to answers these questions and to help channel funding towards the most impactful projects. After winning the Digital Innovation Challenge last year in Kenya, Climate Solutions is now working to scale to the whole sector its vision for digital monitoring. Our sensors are built for the toughest environment, we have deployed more than 14,000 units in 25 countries in Africa, South East Asia, and Latin America so far. We are looking at a 5x to 10x growth for 2025.
What you’ll do:
- Update our app and platform to meet our clients’ needs.
- Build integration with other digital platforms at different level of the stack (help other apps read our sensors data, update our cloud API)
- Build frontend and backend integration for our other sensors
- Infrastructure Maintenance (cluster and database management, scaling, backups, disaster recovery)
What we offer:
- 6 months internship at our headquarter in Aubenas (07200, Ardeche).
- Compensation: 1000 Euros/month + Meal tickets (10 Euros/day covered at 60% by us) + Transport allowance (85 Euro/month)

Technical details about our stack
- Thingsboard Professional edition. Mostly default setup, with customized Rule Chains and HTTPs integration for payload exchange
- Hosted on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), i.e. Google Kubernetes Engine
- Dedicated Postgres Database (Google Cloud SQL)
- Infrastructure managed in Terraform
- React Native app for Android: BLE, NFC, HTTPS protocols

Profil

Expected knowledge:
- infrastructure management and Cloud. Nice-to-have: Experience with GCP
- IoT platforms. Nice-to-have: Experience with Thingsboard
- Experience with the following technologies: Git (and Github), Terraform, Docker, Networking VPC, basic server administration and familiarity with linux CLI
- Android app development using React Native
About you:
- Comfortable working in English (international clients)
- Autonomous, able to find solutions by yourself.
- Familiarity with our tech stack
o React Native app for Android, BLE, NFC, HTTPS protocols (frontend),
o Thingsboard PE on Google Cloud Platform (backend)
- Passionate about using technology for good.
